CAHRC invites participants for energy research
November 14, 2012 by Marg Land
November 14, 2012 – The Canadian Agricultural Human Resources Council (CAHRC) is currently developing an occupational standard for on-farm energy production and is seeking individuals who are, or have been, involved in biogas or biodiesel production.
Participants are invited to attend a workshop to help the council validate its draft national occupational standards for on-farm energy production. CAHRC has prepared these draft standards for producers who have implemented and who operate biodiesel and biogas systems on their farms. These standards will be used to support new producers who are considering implementing these systems and would support those who are operating their systems in ensuring they have the knowledge and skills required for the job.
Workshops are scheduled for:
- November 27 – Biogas, in Ottawa, 8 a.m. to noon
- November 28 – Biodiesel, in Ottawa, noon to 4 p.m.
- December 4 – Biogas, in Guelph, 8 a.m. to noon
- December 4 – Biodiesel, in Guelph, noon to 4 p.m.
The Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council will cover travel and related expenses as per the Government of Canada’s Treasury Board guidelines. In addition, the consulting firm working with the council is pleased to offer participants a $50 gift card to Canadian Tire. A hot lunch will be provided to participants at the session.
