Annual Crop Nutrient Management in MN

January 20, 2013, Mankato, MN – The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) and the Minnesota Agricultural Water Resource Center (MAWRC) invite farmers, crop advisers and other nutrient management professionals to the 5th Annual Crop Nutrient Management Conference, which will be held on February 11, 2014 at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, Minnesota.

The conference will highlight recent research in nutrient management presented by University of Minnesota researchers, fertilizer industry experts and state agency officials.

The ongoing importance of efficient use of applied crop nutrients relating to farm profitability and food production economics combines with growing interest in the environment. Recent regulatory agency reports acknowledge the role of nutrient efficiency as a strategy for improving water quality. The program will focus on nitrogen and phosphorus management from both fertilizer and manure sources with significant emphasis on water quality considerations.
