Anaerobic digesters on the rise

July 16, 2009, National Harbor, MD – National trends in anaerobic
digestion in agriculture have increased from less than 50 million
kilowatt hours per year in 2000 to more than 200 million kilowatt hours
per year in 2007.

July 16, 2009, National Harbor, MD – National trends in anaerobic digestion in agriculture have increased from less than 50 million kilowatt hours per year in 2000 to more than 200 million kilowatt hours per year in 2007.

In this U.S. in 2009, 98 anaerobic digesters are using manure from dairies, 19 are using hog manure, three are using manure from caged layers, two are using manure from ducks while boiler, beef and mixed manure have one anaerobic digester each.
