The SVG Ventures-THRIVE AgTech platform has just announced the nine startup finalists that comprise its 5th annual seed accelerator cohort. Following six months of rigorous research and analysis, Livestock Water Recycling (LWR) was selected from a global applicant pool of 275 companies across 67 countries. SVG VenturesTHRIVE will invest in each startup.

From big data and analytics, to robotics, next gen farms, and biotechnology, LWR and fellow Thrive V cohorts are addressing key agriculture and food challenges such as food safety/security, labor shortages, resource constraint, and environmental concerns.

“Our mission is to help farmers feed the world while reducing their costs and regenerating the health of the farming ecosystem,” says Karen Schuett, LWR Co-Founder and CEO. “Consumer expectations are evolving, and by combining our disruptive technology with the invaluable resources of large global brands, we’re excited to be a part of the real change that’s happening right now in the food and agriculture industry” she adds.

LWR was recently chosen to present to one of the most dynamic and savvy tech crowds in the world at THRIVEX at the Copernicus Project presented by Land O’Lakes during SXSW.

With the increasing food trends of transparency and traceability, LWR is bridging the gap between farms and consumers by aligning transparency with sustainability and regenerative agriculture.

The LWR System enables the precise application of manure, resulting in increased crop growth while eliminating the risk of nutrient leaching. Farms are producing higher quality products, while improving conditions for both animals and employees, simultaneous protecting and regenerating the planet.

“Each year, we are truly impressed with the caliber of our startup teams and the quality of their technology solutions and this year is no exception,” said John Hartnett, founder and CEO of SVG Ventures-THRIVE. “We look forward to helping our THRIVE V startups succeed and scale their solutions for real impact in the food and agriculture industries over the course of the next few months.”

The SVG Ventures-THRIVE Accelerator Program, a four-month program which kicked off in February, will open up a significant treasure trove of opportunities to connect with an extensive network of partners that include Taylor Farms, Trimble, Land O’Lakes, Verizon, JV Smith, EY, Corteva, Yamaha Motor Ventures, Wilbur-Ellis, Elanco AgriNovus and the National Pork Board, as well as growers and farmers from Western Growers Association, Driscoll’s, Sun World and more. The program leads up to the Demo Day at the Forbes AgTech Summit in Salinas at the end of June where LWR will receive incredible exposure in front of the ag industry.
