Agricultural Relations Council selects scholarship recipient

Jessica Wesson of the University of Arkansas has been selected as the recipient of the Agricultural Relations Council’s 2021 ARC/C.O.nxt Scholarship. Wesson is currently a graduate student who holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education, communication and technology and works as a graduate assistant. Her area of focus is agricultural communications and leadership. The scholarship is valued at $1,500.

More time for aspiring hall-of-famers

Those who missed the deadline for the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame entries have new hope. The Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame Association (CAHFA) has extended the nomination deadline for potential inductees. Nominees now have until June 1 to submit their nomination packages. CAHFA’s mission is to induct individuals who have made notable, lifelong contributions to both the Canadian agriculture and food industries.

Inductees are chosen based on career and volunteer contributions, leadership, vision and impact (national or international). For those inducted, portraits will be on display in the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame Gallery at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Full details are available at www.cahfa.com.

People moves: Brandt hires technical agronomist

Ag services and manufacturing company Brandt has hired Brian Dintelmann as a technical agronomist, supporting the company’s retail locations in central Illinois and Iowa. Dintelmann has spent two years as a senior research associate with the University of Missouri. He holds a masters of science in plant, insect and microbial sciences; crop, soil and pest management/weed science from the University of Missouri.
