Activists claim IA ag bill opens loopholes

March 20, 2013, Des Moines, IA – A legislative proposal to regulate animal livestock feeding operations is drawing fire from Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, whose members chanted “Kill the bill” during a recent Iowa Statehouse news conference.
A lawmaker sponsoring the proposal, which has already cleared Iowa House and Senate committees, said the bill would actually have the potential of reducing the number of Iowa hogs by allowing farmers to idle hog confinements. READ MORE
