July 8, 2009, Davis, CA – Ten California projects have been selected for funding through the Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative (CCPI).

The 2009 CCPI projects in California includes more than $1.5 million for the Western United Dairymen to be used in the Marin, Sonoma, Del Norte, Humboldt, Tehama, Butte, Fresno, Glenn, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Solano, Tulare, Yuba, and Yolo Counties.
Three WUD projects were funded. These included:

- $60,000 for improving the efficient use of manure as a plant nutrient,
- $300,000 for development of nutrient management plans on dairies, and
- $1.2 million for protecting water quality by helping dairy operators improve their manure utilization systems.
