VA misses deadline for bay restoration plan

September 3, 2010, Millington, VA — Virginia has missed the deadline for filing its Chesapeake Bay restoration plan with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and has asked for more time to make sure the governor fully supports the plan.

September 1, 2010, was the deadline for the six states to deliver their bay watershed implementation plans to the federal Environmental Protection Agency to meet goals under a strategy ordered by President Barack Obama.
