Baleen Filters opens North American office
March 17, 2010, Edmonton, AB – Baleen Filters now has a local North American office in Canada.

Baleen Filters has been commercially available since 2003, with the initial launch into the hog industry at World Pork Expo in Des Moines of that year.

Fully supported by the corporate head office in Australia, the North American office is under the direction of David Dooley, who has been involved with Baleen Filters since 1999. With sales and progress in the Asia Pacific region, Baleen Filters’ effluent separation process is now available in the North American market.

The name Baleen is the anatomical name for a particular whalebone belonging to the group of filter-feeding whales, and forms the mechanism that enables the whale to collect krill and other marine organisms during feeding. The Baleen Filter technology is an engineered adaptation of this natural technique used by the Baleen whale.

Filtration and separation equipment may be divided into two classes; those that offer a “process” use, and those that offer a “utility” use. Most “process” applications are very industry specific, whereas “utility” applications are simply characterized by the nature of the fluid, and are relatively independent of the industry. The Baleen Filter has the ability to filter-out a wide range of contaminants.
