New Iowa law for winter manure application

December 8, 2009 – The new restrictions went into effect last July, and prohibit surface application of liquid manure on frozen and snow-covered ground during certain time periods.

With the late 2009 harvest, some farmers didn’t get all the livestock manure applied this fall as planned.
