Results from recent research conducted by Guild Associates show the company’s pressure swing absorption (PSA) system can remove water, carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) impurities in a single processing step.
The Ohio based technology consulting company conducted the field trial
using a digester facility on a large dairy. During the trial, 3000ppm of hydrogen sulfide was removed from the generated methane, resulting in
the bio-gas meeting pipeline specifications. In an earlier trial, the company showed that water and carbon dioxide could also be removed through a single step process.
The process works by compressing the bio-gas to 100psig at which point
the PSA system removes the water, CO2 and H2S. A major feature of the process is the ability to meet pipeline specifications regardless of the feed composition.
